Nigeria Car Import Changes for 2017

Changes are coming in 2017 for Nigerian car import laws, and they promise to increase demand for cars from the USA. Starting on January 1st, 2017 Nigeria will ban the import of new and used cars through land borders. Car imports to Nigeria will be restricted to Nigeria's sea ports only. In 2017, anyone looking to buy a vehicle from outside of Nigeria won't be able to import one from the surrounding region. Buyers will be incentivized to seek out cars from overseas.

There is also further rumors that the government is exploring the possibility of decreasing import duties on cars through sea ports. Once we hear further news on the subject, you will be the first to know.
