China International Car Shipping Data Q2 2015

The latest international car shipping data for China is now available.

Over 9,400 cars were shipped in containers from the US to China during the second quarter of 2015, a 42% increase over the first quarter. It places China as the second most popular destination for containerized US car exports.

Car Shipping To China

The majority of the cars exported continued to be brand new high-end models that were originally purchased from US dealerships. While car manufacturers object to this practice, they have recently lost support of the US government which dropped all charges against new car exporters, deeming the practice legal. In addition, China went one step above and legalized parallel-car imports, allowing international auto traders to import and sell new cars without the car makers approval.

Most popular New Cars shipped to China:
  • Range Rover
  • BMW X6
  • Porsche Cayenne
  • Ford Mustang
  • Mercedes GL450
